August 31 - Some of my Linux games are mentioned in an article on Freshmeat.net!August 30 - I've added the first new effect in a LONG time to my online image manipulator, WebFX.
August 30 - It appears Tux Paint is reviewed in the latest issue of Linux-Magazin (a German mag.) See it here!
August 26 - I've added a "Junk" section to 'Photos,' where I'll put the random digital "art" I create. My latest is entitled "Tasha Yar's Revenge."
August 24 - I got mentioned (for Tux Paint) in last week's Debian weekly news!
August 18 - The photos I took at LinuxWorld Expo last week are now online, too!
August 18 - I finally put photos from Melissa, Emily and my roadtrip to Seattle back in June.
August 17 - I went to Picn*x, the Linux anniversary picnic, today. Here are some photos! Enjoy!
August 16 - My interview with OSNews.com is online! Update: And it's on Slashdot, and mentioned in Debian Weekly News, too!
August 15 - I got to go to LinuxWorld Expo in San Francisco today! Over a dozen of us came from Davis (10 of us came together on Amtrak), and I got to see some of the cool folks I saw at least year's LWE (Bill from No Starch, Harry from OSEF, Sean from Debian), as well as finally get the chance to meet people I've chatted with before over e-mail (Ben and Spencer from Sharp's Zaurus group, Karen from IBM.)
I took a TON of pictures with the new digital camera I got for my Zaurus (I'll put them online soon), handed out a few flyers for Saturday's Picn*x in Sunnyvale, and OSEF helped me distribute nearly 30 copies of Tux Paint, which I put on floppies just for LWE and Picn*x.
I collected a lot of information and possible leads for speakers at LUGOD, and Melissa collected a ton of 'swag' (give-aways). All-in-all, it was great fun!
August 13 - Yet another article on Slashdot. Whee!
August 11 - There's an interview with a Linux game developer on OSNews.com. The article starts out:
'If there are two individuals in the Linux game scene today that they brought a lot and very good Free games to all Linux users, these should be Michael Speck of LGames and Bill Kendrick of NewBreedSoftware.'
Cool! Not only that, but the article was Slashdotted!
Update: It looks like they want to interview me, too!
August 11 - Yesterday, my friend Nicole and I did a presentation on Linux for kids at the California 4-H State Leadership Conference. 15-20 kids came, and all seemed to enjoy it immensely! (One was from the Sacramento area, so LUGOD may have gained a new member!)
August 9 - I scored last night! A local video store was going out of business, and I was able to pick up the first two tapes (four episodes) of Blake's 7, my number one favorite sci-fi!
August 7 - I created the art for Picn*x 11's t-shirt! If you like Linux and will be in/near the bay area on August 17th, come to the picnic! It's free!
