February 27 - After just over 2.5 years of working at WorldCom as a contractor, due to the recently-announced 5000-person lay-off, myself (and 20 others from my office) have just been let go. I guess I'll take this opportunity to direct you to my resume.February 27 - The fellow who maintains the Computer Action Games section of About.com has begun creating a Free Games list. He's already included Mad Bomber (here), and plans on adding more of my games! Cool!
February 26 - Oh yeah, I put up the demo (and also a 2K puzzle game) for the LGP application online. Enjoy!
February 25 - The April 2003 issue of the cat-covered Japanese magazine LinuxWorld was FedEx'd to me today. It included copies and reviews of my Linux games Entombed! and Gem Drop X.
February 21 - I've finally begun working on TuxMath again. I've got an Options screen going, and it works fairly well. Hopefully it's what people want. It's definitely better than nothing, which is what it's had for the last year and a half.
:^)February 21 - I whipped up a simple demo for the Linux Game Publishing 'from-scratch' Linux title application. The source is a little too big, at just over 2.5kB, though.
February 19 - A friend from SacLUG mentioned an article in the Sacramento Bee newspaper about IBM's decision to use Trolltech's Qtopia for their PDA reference design. (It's what the Zaurus uses; which means my software should probably work on whatever devices get built.) Check out my post on Slashdot.
February 17 - I've updated my résumé. (It's also now available in PDF format.)
February 17 - A fellow named Marius Diepenhorst was kind enough to compose some music for my upcoming Atari game, Cat5Walk! It was pretty much plug-n-play into my current code, too. Sweet!
February 16 - I picked up the latest issue of Linux Format (a British magazine) at Borders the other night, and notice on the sleeve of one of the included CDROMs the words "Tux Paint" in big, bold letters! So, I had to buy a copy. Upon further inspection, I also discovered that Zaurus versions of my games Vectoroids, Bug Squish and Mad Bomber were included, along with my Zaurus FAQ document!
February 14 - I've been hacking on my Atari 8-bit again lately. Cat5Walk will be a puzzle game based on 'Netwalk' for PalmOS. I've also demonstrated that Galaga enemies wouldn't look too bad in my 'Super IRG' graphics mode. (I doubt I'll be able to code a good Galaga clone, though...)
February 10 - I'll be demonstrating Tux Paint at a Macintosh users group in Sacramento on March 18th. Dig around Macnexus.org to find it.
February 7 - Goodbye, Atari Games. Midway has laid off the remaining employees of Midway Games West (which is what ended up to the arcade division of Atari). I had the opportunity to work there back in 1998, but chose Melissa over a somewhat low-paying job in Silicon Valley.
:^)Fortunately, the other half of Atari is still alive and kicking, as part of Infogrames. (Slashdot article.)February 4 - Both Tux Paint and TuxMath were reviewed in this article about Tux4Kids and Knoppix over at NewsForge!
February 3 - Check out my article on Tux Paint over at DesktopLinux.com.
