August 31, 2006 - *GRR* There are many reasons to choose to develop and release software as Open Source (as I do on occasion). I've been reminded of one. That can't happen with Open Source... (take for instance a game I wrote 9 years ago)
- a game I wrote at my last company,
- which was downloaded 15,000+ times in something like 6 months,
- and given a great review by a major gaming news outlet
- ... is suddenly nowhere to be seen, thanks to a huge corporation's whim.
August 27, 2006 - A fortunately low-key weekend. I was able to get some Tux Paint development time in, and added an oft-requested feature: slideshow!
August 26, 2006 - I couldn't resist making a Tux Paint version of SF-LUG's logo, which they decided to post as a replacement, in honor of my upcoming visit.
August 25, 2006 - Tough week. In and out of the hospital (including one overnight stay) and OB office way too many times this week. Things look stable for the moment, thankfully. As Melissa posted to our baby blog a few days ago, it's way too early for the little guy to be born, so we're being very careful to make sure that doesn't happen!
August 21, 2006 - My New Breed Software site's news is now available as an RSS feed, and I've added it, as well as our Baby Kendrick Blog news, to this page. Scroll down!
August 21, 2006 - I'll be demonstrating Tux Paint at the San Francisco Linux User Group on Sunday, September 3rd.
August 19, 2006 - I just signed up to exhibit my Atari stuff at the Vintage Computer Festival in Mountain View this November. They seemed to like me previous years, so I'm guess I'll be able to show again this time.
August 18, 2006 - Ego-searching Google Images for "Tux Paint", I found interesting things:
- A Flickr photoset: "Self-examination and soul-searching, via [Tux Paint]"
- Training inner-city teachers on mouse skills using Tux Paint
- A little girl in Japan using Tux Paint on a Zaurus PDA
- A new interpretation of the Tux Paint logo
