May 2, 2008 - I was interviewed by Computerworld Australia: "An open palette: Tux Paint's Bill Kendrick."April 25, 2008 - Tux Paint was mentioned by name (and link) on the front page of Slashdot today, yikes! Also, it just received another glowing review from Softpedia!
April 21, 2008 - In the end, Tux4Kids (which includes Tux Paint received 133 student applications (from 90 students) in this year's Google Summer of Code program. The accepted student proposals have been announced, and you can now see the 10 applications we ended up choosing. It was a very difficult and emotional process. (Think about it: we had to disappoint 80 people today!) I wish we had at least twice as many mentors available, since there were so many excellent proposals that we ended up having to decline.
March 30, 2008 - Tux4Kids has received nearly 55 applications from almost 40 students. And Google is considering extending the application deadline, due to many students being away on Spring break. It's going to be tough deciding among all these, espcially since many of them are very thorough (full proposals with timelines, for example).
March 17, 2008 - Tux4Kids has been accepted as a mentoring organization in this year's Google Summer of Code program!
March 15, 2008 - The Linux Users' Group of Davis (which I co-founded and continue to help run) will be exhibiting at a county-wide child development conference in Davis next month. I'll be there plugging Tux Paint, of course. There's a ton more open source software for education out there, so it'll be a ton of fun helping people learn about it. Wish us luck!

December 5, 2007 - Tux Paint was mentioned (sadly, only as an alternative to the commercial "Kid Pix") in The Unoffical Apple Weblog's Buyers Guide: Parents' picks for Apple-loving kids. Maybe one year Tux Paint will be their pick.
:^)December 5, 2007 - Top Chef is now available for download on AT&T and T-Mobile! Also, LimeLife has been listed in the 2007 Red Herring Global 100 (that is, they've chosen us as one of the top 100 startup companies in the world)! Update: And Top Chef is listed on Bravo TV's website.
November 28, 2007 - So long, and thanks for all the bickering. After 5 and a half years, and too many political-infighting threads to count, I've decided to take myself off of SVLUG's mailing list. I wish them luck in figuring themselves out.
