What is it? An event to celebrate old video games; a hands-on, living museum, where a variety of classic game systems and computers and retro games will be showcased. Atari Party is a free event, open to the public, hosted by volunteers from the local community.

News:

  • 2014-10-27 - Davis Makerpsace will be hosting a video game exhibit during November's "2nd Friday ArtAbout" (on Nov. 14th). Bill Kendrick, founder of Atari Party, will be bringing a small selection of Atari gear to this event, and others are encouraged to contribute.
  • 2014-08-12 - Recent interviews with Bill Kendrick, founder of the Atari Party: ANTIC: The Atari 8-bit Podcast, Episode 12 (podcast, June 23, 2014), and An Interview With Bill Kendrick On His Atari Parties!, July 16, 2014.
  • 2014-06-12 - The big day's this Saturday! We have over a dozen volunteers lined up to bring you tons of games from their perosnal collections! All for you to play, all for free!
  • 2014-05-07 - Plans are well underway for Atari Party 2014 in Sunnyvale next month. We have Al Alcorn (employee #3 at Atari, and designer of the PONG arcade game) and Dan Kramer (who championed the home Trak-Ball controllers within Atari in the early 1980s) lined up as this year's guest speakers, and lots of volunteers geared up to bring their systems for you to come play!
  • 2014-01-24 - The Atari Party in Sunnyvale will be on Saturday, June 14th. We'll have video game consoles, handhelds, computers, and arcade games. We also hope to have 2 or 3 guest speakers. The event will be oriented to teens.
  • 2014-01-17 - Plans are underway to put together another Atari Party with the Digital Game Museum, this time at the Sunnyvale public library, some time in summer 2014.
