"Atari Party" is a free annual event celebrating five decades of
Atari video game and computing history. Tons of people joined us on
The event was free, and open to the public. No registration or RSVP was required. Volunteers donated their time, and loaned their games and systems to the event. (Please note that Atari Party is not a sales or trading event, it's only an exhibit.)
This year there were a wide variety of video game systems and classic computers (around 40 systems!), with hundreds of games to play — including Ataris (2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar, and 8-bit and 16/32-bit home computers), Amigas, and newer systems running Atari games (PlayStation & PS2, GameBoy Advance, Flashback, and Raspberry Pi).
We also held a free prize drawing with lots of great give-aways, including books, video games, hardware, and even a Raspberry Pi computer and a complete Atari VCS/2600 game system!
Finally, during the show, we screened the new documentary World 1-1, about the early history of video games!
