ATARI FILE SERVER, VERSION 1.0, REL FEB 1992. The program is intended for simple loading (testing/running) of Atari programs from a PC-harddisk. The AFS doesn't support through-printing and other transfer-methods to/from the PC, it's just a simple (but easy to use) disk-emulating program. Besides the AFS program running on a IBM PC compatible and a small interface for the Atari 400/800/XL/XE, no other software than a normal DOS is needed.

The file atariemu.zip contains the source code for an atari 400/800 atari emulator. There are three seperate files included in atariemu.zip: ataricpp.zip atsim.zip siocopya.zip File ataricpp.zip is the c++ source code for a test Atari emulator. I used the c++ version to test some of my ideas. File atsim.zip is the source code for the 80x86 assembler version of the Atari emulator. This version is more complete than the c++ version, but not finished. The file siocopya.zip contains a program that can read data from the Atari disk drive using a simple cable connected to the parallel port. This was a test program to see if I could use this type of method as part of the emulator. Mike Munoz

The Protected mode version only runs in Dos-Mode and with emm386 not installed. I couldn't try it on a pentium, so I'm not sure whether it will run on it and I don't know, whether it likes all SVGA-cards. The loading and saving of atari disks isn't implemented in the protected mode version. The documentation is a little outdated. I wrote it, when I uploaded it to a local BBS, which is now about two years ago, and I am *not* good in writing documentation! mfg -- Wilhelm Zadrapa mailto:wfz@aon.at

SMARTT.COM - by Joe Hitchens July 86 (This version compiled at $2400, which seems to work with K65 Kermit/VT100 emulator) SMARTT is a smart-modem emulating handler for the Atari 1030 modem. Its commands may seem awkward, com- pared to the handlers for the Atari modems. But bear in mind it is pre- tending to be a hardware box outside your computer. If you have actually used a smart-modem these commands will be familiar. Most programs expecting the 850 or similar device handlers should work with this handler. For serial I/O do close R: and reopen R: when finished like the 850.

Vt52em is a vt52 emulator for the Atari 8-bit computers with an RS232 interface and Hayes compatible modem. It was written in ACTION! and compiled with the run-time libraries, therefore the ACTION! cartridge is not necessary to run this program. I am unable to distribute the source code at this time as the code for the 80 column driver is copyrighted.

This is VTERM, yet another VT52 terminal emulator. This one does text-captures, and allegedly does XMODEM file transfers, but I've never been able to get that to work. There is no doc available, but there's a help screen, accessable by typing ? at the initial screen. This version of VTERM contains an autoloader for an Atari 850. It should work with other devices, but you'll have to provide another driver.

wav2cas.zip This program is something I wrote to sample Atari 8-bit cassettes into a cassette image file, somewhat similar to SIO2PC and APE. The cassette must be digitized with wave studio or so into a .wav file. This program can then process it, and produce a .cas file, which can be booted with the Atari 8-bit and the SIO2PC cable. Therefore, I suppose it would be best to put it into emulators/peripherals as wav2cas.zip. The source is included, as is a very small readme file describing it, and a very large document that tells you everything you don't want to know about cassettes. Regards, Ernest.
