Ice-T - 48K version By Itay Chamiel itayc@hotmail.com (This is the current address, as of February 1997) Ice-T - a highspeed 80 column VT terminal for Atari 8-bits with a minimum of 48K memory. Please get Ice-T XE if you have 128K! This version includes scrollback, a menu interface, Xmodem download, and print screen. This emulation is quite fast (not as fast as the XE version, though), and supports up to 19,200 baud. Character loss may occur, in some cases, at 9600 and 19.2K if you don't have hardware flow control. This depends on system setup. Please note that for this version, despite the fact that it is incomplete, a shareware fee of $15 cash (or $20 check, to cover currency conversion) is mandatory (in US$). I worked for about a year on this program, and I deserve something for those countless hours of work! My mailing address is displayed in the title screen of the program. (The email there is NOT current though.) Download the file and un-Diskcomm it to create an image of the original disk, includin...

SMARTT.COM - by Joe Hitchens July 86 (This version compiled at $2400, which seems to work with K65 Kermit/VT100 emulator) SMARTT is a smart-modem emulating handler for the Atari 1030 modem. Its commands may seem awkward, com- pared to the handlers for the Atari modems. But bear in mind it is pre- tending to be a hardware box outside your computer. If you have actually used a smart-modem these commands will be familiar. Most programs expecting the 850 or similar device handlers should work with this handler. For serial I/O do close R: and reopen R: when finished like the 850.

VT-10-Squared emulates a limited, but basic, set of VT-100 functions. It provides a full 80-column screen by use of a software handler which uses a 3-pixel-wide character set. While the characters are not perfect, you will find them quite readable on a crisp monitor or black-and-white TV. VT-10-Squared does not support all VT-100 capability, particularly special graphics characters, special character sizes, and 132-column screen. As a result, it will not work properly with some DEC products.

Vt52em is a vt52 emulator for the Atari 8-bit computers with an RS232 interface and Hayes compatible modem. It was written in ACTION! and compiled with the run-time libraries, therefore the ACTION! cartridge is not necessary to run this program. I am unable to distribute the source code at this time as the code for the 80 column driver is copyrighted.

This is VTERM, yet another VT52 terminal emulator. This one does text-captures, and allegedly does XMODEM file transfers, but I've never been able to get that to work. There is no doc available, but there's a help screen, accessable by typing ? at the initial screen. This version of VTERM contains an autoloader for an Atari 850. It should work with other devices, but you'll have to provide another driver.
